A ‘thank you’ to our Grandparents

AJT_9268

Our annual Grandparents’ Lunch was a great success and much enjoyed by our guests, the children who served (with enormous care and skill) and the staff who attended.

Held in recognition and gratitude for the vital and supporting role that so many grandparents give to our pupils, the lunch, which began with drinks in the Front Courtyard, was a splendid affair… the happy buzz of conversation only slightly interrupted by one of the Headmaster’s jokes.

Alison Shepherd, together with her team from our catering department, masterminded and produced a delicious menu – a choice of salmon or beef followed by Eton Mess or apple crumble.

It was a delight to renew old friendships as well as making many new ones, though ever sad to say ‘goodbye’ to those whose grandchildren move on to their senior schools later this year.
