Year One at Forest School
Year One spent Thursday morning in Forest School creating the most wonderful winter homes for hibernating hedgehogs. The children put a lot of care and thought into their work and this was reflected in the results. Some of the houses had moss for carpet and one even had a larder! Roofs were covered with leaves for waterproofing, and sticks and leaves were used for camouflage. The children were so absorbed in their work they had to be interrupted in order to get back to school in time for lunch.
Victorian servants
Class 1JW have been learning about Victorian homes and the people who lived in them. This week the children had great fun dressing up and taking on the roles of Victorian servants. They learned about the different chores carried out by the servants and heard what life was like for young children living at home, being looked after by nannies and governesses or tutors.
