Hordle Walhampton Scout Group
After months of planning, lots of meetings, much paper and many emails, the Hordle Walhampton Scout group was launched on Tuesday evening. The Beaver colony with 22 members had their inaugural meeting in the Pre-Prep.They heard the story of the little beaver and made cut-out beavers holding the beaver promise. Next week they will be learning, amongst other things, how to put up a tent.
The cubs, not quite so numerous, met in the Sports Hall. They were told about the history of the scout movement and how the badge system works. They were also told about the series of action packed district events that they could look forward to in the coming months eg go karting, wide games in the forest and camping.
The feedback was extremely positive. However, to ensure the continuing success of the group, more parental assistance is needed. It would be fantastic if we could tempt a few more mums and dads to help. Any volunteers, please have a word with David Whately-Smith.
