He did it!

On Sunday 22nd April, 2007, Hordle Walhampton's Headmaster walked (and even partly jogged) the Flora London Marathon.

Those who knew him six months ago hardly believed it possible and certainly measured how much of a challenge it would be however, he completed the 26 miles in just over eight hours.

Despite very sore feet and a rather interesting way of walking, he didn't turn down the possibility of doing it again.

Take your marks, get set......Good Luck!

Time flies by, especially when you would prefer it not to: it has been over two months since the Headmaster announced that he was going to take part in the Flora London Marathon to help raise funds for Naomi House, and it is now time to put his legs where his mouth is. Keep an eye on the news on Sunday evening, as you may well see him or another member of the New Forest team crossing the finishing line.

Whatever the outcome, Mr Phillips’s diary relates a lot of hard work and training, which is enough for him to be proud of and should earn him the highly coveted medal. His support to Naomi House is also worth its weight in gold, with a total of £6099 so far, thanks to all your generous donations.

The marathon starts at 10:00am on Sunday 22nd April. As for the finish...your guess is as good as ours!

Cakes and Green Day for Naomi House

The School Assembly looked particularly green on that Friday morning, and as everybody was getting ready to go home for Half-Term, the school uniform was replaced by flashes of green clothing running through the corridors.

Thanks to the School Council's Hard Work and selling skills, the cake raffle was a huge success, with over 50 cakes donated and a total raised of £405.73.

Headmaster will run London Marathon for Naomi House

Our beloved Headmaster Mr Phillips announced the very brave decision this morning: having been offered a Gold Ticket by Naomi House for this year's Flora London Marathon, he will run (walk, crawl...?) 40 kilometres on April 22nd.

The objective is to raise funds for the Children's Hospice, and everyone's support will be greatly appreciated. In the meantime, we shall keep you informed of his progress in our new special feature "The Diary of a Runner".
