Inspection Reports

The school was inspected in October 2008 by the Independent Schools Inspectorate.

“Hordle Walhampton is successful in meeting its aims and aspirations. Pupils’ outstanding personal development is underpinned by extremely strong pastoral care, so that pupils grow in self-reliance, self-discipline, confidence, Christian standards, responsibility and consideration for others. The standard of provision for boarding is very high, and this means that all pupils, both boarders and day, feel confident, happy and valued within this warm and welcoming community, which develops excellent relationships between home and school. Teaching is good and, together with purposeful attitudes to study, enables most pupils to learn, make good progress and achieve well in a superb environment.”

“The standard of care provided for boarders at the school is extremely good. They are looked after within a caring environment where they feel safe and well cared for by staff with whom they have positive and respectful relationships. There is excellent healthcare provision at the school provided by an extremely well qualified team of matrons who have a very good working relationship with the local surgery. There are clear systems in place which are effective in providing a safe physical environment for boarders. Bullying is not a problem at the school, boarders get on extremely well with one another and overseas boarders are very well integrated into the boarding community.”
