Youth Speaks

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

The Rotary Clubs of Great Britain organise an annual speaking competition, ‘Youth Speaks’. This year Hordle Walhampton was very pleased to be represented by two teams. Posy Hewitt, Hannah Bicket and Hugo Walters forming one team and Joseph Holland, Henry Carey-Morgan and Arabella Watkiss the other.

Both teams gave thoroughly polished performances that impressed the judges. Posy, Hannah and Hugo were praised for their confident presentation and clear diction. Posy was given a special commendation for her passionate delivery on the plans and proposals being made for the New Forest by the National Park Authority (NPA).

The judges also commented most favourably on Joseph, Henry and Arabella’s mature delivery and effective arguements – all of which the team had written, prepared and rehearsed themselves. Henry convinced the judges that a career in politics surely beckons at some time in the future!
